This video, filmed in 1998, is the fifth of the McGraw-Hill Satellite Teleconference on Topics in Second Language Acquisition. The focus of this video is the role of grammar instruction in the communicative language classroom and is the second Teleconference video to treat this topic. (The 1997 Teleconference video also examined this issue.) Specific topics discussed include different approaches to grammatical instruction and the effects of instruction on language acquisition.
