Hot Teleconference
I did my own teleconference last night and it is truly a good feeling to be able to share some of the valuable information I have received over the years being a listener and as well as a participant on several teleconferences. My teleconference is HOT (Hour Of Transformation.
It has been brought to my attention that many people are not familiar with the term teleconference, so I will attempt to explain it as best as I can. A teleconference is designed to give information.
I could not find the word teleconference in the dictionary I have at home, which suggests to me that the term is a fairly new concept. Hence the reason many people are not familiar with it. According to WIKIPEDIA, the free online encyclopedia, the meaning of teleconference is:
The live exchange and mass articulation of information among persons and machines remote from one another but linked by a telecommunications system, usually over the phone.
It only requires two people to hold a valid teleconference, but some teleconferences have many people on the line. During a teleconference, experts in certain fields interact, share ideas and give valuable information and resources that can assist the participants in many areas of personal development.
A teleconference is a cheap and easy way to get personal development and training. They are usually totally free. The only thing that is needed to hold a teleconference is a telephone and 30-60 minutes of your time. The only charge a participant incurs is the long distance telephone charge. However if a person you has a plan that covers long distant calls there is no extra cost. The other option is to use a cell phone.
Many teleconferences are held in the evenings or at nights to accommodate people who work in the day time. If you work at nights, there are teleconferences for you as well, because some people hold theirs in the day time. Teleconferences are very convenient as they are accessible right from the comfort of your own home, if you are driving or walking among other activities.
Employers hold daytime teleconferences for their employees to be able to communicate and have discussions while they are working at different locations. Some teleconferences are held by entrepreneurs who have a common goal and want to mastermind together.
In attendance at a teleconference are usually a presenter who is the moderator and listeners. The presenter does most of the talking, but there is usually room for questions and answers (Qs & As). Participants get to learn about modern trends, strategies and cutting edge technologies that are appropriate for success in their careers and in life in general.
Sometimes there are technical glitches or many people calling in at the same time, and you may be able to get in on the call or you may get a recording, stating that the circuits are busy. Keep trying until you get in. Try to call in a few minutes early. You may call in up to 15 minutes early and get to know or network with others who have called in early.
I hope these tips have helped you to understand what teleconference is.
